Mobile Mammography FAQ

When should I get a Mammogram?
Generally, women who are age 40 or older should get a mammogram every year. Women with a personal or family history of cancer should talk to their doctor.

To be eligible the following is required:
A prescription from your doctor for a mammogram (we can help with this)
You must be age 40 or older.
You must not have any breast problems (ex: lump, pain, nipple discharge, breast skin changes, etc.)
Your last mammogram must have been over a year ago.

I’ve had a mammogram elsewhere. Should I let the Mobile Mammography Scheduler know that when I make my appointment? YES, please let us know when you call to schedule your appointment where you’ve had your last mammograms so we can arrange to get them prior to your appointment. Having images from previous mammograms is essential for the radiologists. You can also bring them with you to your appointment and we’ll upload them on the mobile unit.

When do I get my results?
Your results will be mailed, and you should receive them within 3-5 business days. If our radiologist needs you to come back in for more pictures, you will get a phone call 24-48 business hours after your appointment. Your doctor that sent you your mammogram will also be informed of all the information in similar time frames. If you need more pictures, Windsong’s program assistants and Radiologists along with your Primary Care Physician will help coordinate all follow up care.
