FHMS Keeps on Freezin' for a Reason

Thursday Feb 20th, 2020

The estimated temperature was 23 degrees on Saturday. Before the first plunger hit the water, the 2020 Polar Plunge had raised over $6,000 for FeedMore WNY in Chautauqua County.

By the end of the event, over 80 participants had taken the plunge into the frigid waters of Chautauqua Lake, with at least 15 children joining in the fun! In its sixth year, the fundraiser has raised $38,000. The money raised will support FeedMore WNY in their mission to provide food, friendship and skills training to the 16,150 Chautauqua County residents who are food-insecure.

With the help of our volunteers and local fire departments, the event has grown into more than we ever thought possible. We take great pride in giving back to our community and it’s a reward in itself to see so many members of the community coming together to make a difference in the life’s of others.

We would like to thank all of the participants, volunteers and event sponsors for their continued support.
